All of our services, commercial and residential, are carried out to meet the BS3998 British Standard, a standard of excellence in professional Arboriculture.
Below is a clickable list of our services. We understand that not everyone knows all of the terms used, so we have a help guide to explain the different aspects of the work being carried out on your trees.
Pruning / Reduction
Pruning a tree is important. Pruning a tree can influence in what way the tree grows. With proper pruning, a tree can be made to grow into a certain way to help limbs and branches become structurally safer. Maintaining the tree’s structure helps to reduce the risk of broken limbs and falling branches. Structural pruning can also greatly improve the general look of the tree.
Dead Wood Removal
Dead wood should always be removed from a safety aspect, be it in your own garden or from a business point of view. Dead wood snaps out without warning and can harm those it lands on. From a tree perspective, it also can help speed up infection and rot if left especially in larger trees.
Lifts and Cutbacks
Lifts and cutbacks are again mainly for safety and protection/prevention from harm to people, buildings, lights and animal pests. It can also allow more light to bedding, plants and grass under a tree.
Thinning is important for certain trees as they become very heavy when in leaf or if most of the leaves grow towards the end of the branch. It is also a great tool to improve the look of a tree and allow light to penetrate through the canopy.
Pollarding is a pruning technique in which the upper branches of a tree are removed, promoting a dense isolation of leaf and branches. It has been common in Europe since medieval times and is practised today in urban areas worldwide, primarily to maintain trees at a predetermined height.
Felling & Removal
If a tree is dead or diseased and starting to die back then it may need to be safely removed. Sometimes trees can cause problems with subsidence too. We use appropriate modern techniques to dismantle and remove trees from your property safely. If you are a commercial customer then we offer site clearances ready for development.
We love to plant trees! We can help choose what tree would thrive the best on your land in the space and soil type available. We can supply trees as bare root, potted saplings or more mature trees depending on your circumstances.
Stump Grinding is the most abrasive method of removing a stump and also the quickest. We would remove the whole of the body of the stump leaving just smaller roots to rot down naturally. This method is better for when you are short on time, for replanting and returfing, or building over the top.
Poisoning is the cheaper method and is also better when dealing with trees which sprout regrowth even after the tree has been removed, such as Lime trees and Ashes. It will take a lot longer to be ready for any planting but is a more natural method. We only use poisons that neutralise once in contact with the soil.
